Adult Psychiatric Observation Unit

Provides short-term assessment, stabilization and treatment services for individuals experiencing a psychiatric or mental health crisis. Services vary per location; may include crisis intervention, discharge planning, case consultation, substance use services, and referrals to community resources or home-based treatment, as appropriate.

Admission through the Emergency Department or by physician referral.
