A 10-bed facility that provides transitional housing for women and their children fleeing domestic violence. Offers 24 hour support and consultation in a safe and secure home like setting.

Provides free, confidential counselling for children and youth who have witnessed and or experienced abuse, threats, violence in the home, or other relationship violence.

The program offers safety skills and strategies, and supports children to understand they are not at fault for abusive action of others. Counsellors' help children to label and express feelings they have experienced as result of abuse witnessed and or experienced, and understand healthy ways of dealing with and expressing anger.

Provides guidance and emotional support to women who are or at risk of becoming victims of various forms of abuse. The program includes safety planning, advocacy and help with life skills and goal setting. Information and accompaniment to court or other appointments is also provided.

Canadian Mental Health Association - Kootenays Branch
Provides informal support services to youth and teens during crisis situations, while forming positive relationships with youth at risk. Services include prevention, education, crisis intervention for youth and their families, lay and life skills counselling, and referrals to other appropriate agencies. Program objectives are individualized, practical and client centered, focusing on securing safe housing, getting into and attending school, learning job readiness skills, finding a job, budgeting, home-making skills, self-care, and developing and maintaining healthy relationships. Programs are available to youth in the Cranbrook and Kimberley areas.
