Hornby and Denman Community Health Care Society

Offers short-term loans of home care equipment, free of charge, to residents of both Hornby and Denman islands. Inventory includes canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, hospital beds, commodes, bedpans and urinals, bath benches and more.

Provides hospice, palliative care and grief support services. Services provided by trained volunteers.

Provides free, confidential youth and family counselling to support children, parents and caregivers with managing issues such as children dealing with a loss, unique family challenges, child behavioural problems, and parenting issues.

Provides free, confidential counselling, support and advocacy to help youth in the community have safer, healthier lifestyles. Youth workers help with accessing basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter, as well as provide short-term crisis support, sexual health information, youth workshops, information on safe alcohol and drug use, and referrals to community resources.
