Angel's Cradle
Provides a safe place for a mother to anonymously leave her newborn baby if she feels that she cannot properly care for it. Thirty seconds after the newborn has been placed in the cradle, a sensor will alert emergency hospital staff. The baby will be given any necessary medical treatment before being placed in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
Should the mother need to come into the emergency department for medical care after the birth, medical staff will not connect her with the newborn baby, nor will police seek out the mother or pursue any charges.
