Areas of support include identifying the appropriate or justifiable course of action, balancing perspectives and values that inform decisions, handling disagreements to determine the best path forward, clarifying who should make the decision, and facilitating discussions about patient and family values. Offered in person or virtually per needs of the requester.
PHSA Ethics Service is centralized and serves all provincial agencies including but not limited to BC Cancer Agency, BC Centre for Disease Control, BC Children's Hospital and Sunny Hill Health Centre, BC Women's Hospital and Health Centre, BC Mental Health and Substance Use, BC Emergency Health Services, and other agencies delivering PHSA's programs and services.
