Patient Travel Benefits

FNHA Health Benefits - Medical Transportation
Administers and coordinates medical travel to eligible First Nations clients on behalf of the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) Health Benefits Program. Arrangement is also available for a driver to take members to appointments if there is no one in the family who can provide transportation.

The program provides funding for transportation to the closest appropriate medical professional and or facility for medical or health related services that are eligible through the BC Medical Service Plan or covered by FNHA.

Program administered according to FNHA Health Benefits guidelines. Client must provide documentation of the general practitioner or family physician referral, confirmation of appointment, and confirmation of attendance at the appointment once travel has been completed.

Appointment required at least one week in advance. Call or email Seabird Island Doctors' Office and Medical Centre.
