Social Work and Counselling

Provides support and counselling to patients who are having difficulties with managing or coping with the impact of illness. Social workers are available to all patients, as well as their families, who are hospitalized or are attending an outpatient clinic.

Services include support groups, one-on-one counselling, spiritual care, crisis intervention, advocacy, and help finding community resources. Short-term therapy is also available through the psychology department.

Self-referral or referrals from a health care team, physician, other staff, and community agency accepted.
