Maternal and Child Health
Carrier Sekani Family Services
Supports pregnant Indigenous women with having healthy pregnancies, and provides education and guidance to new parents and families with young children. Support may be provided in the family's home, in the community, or at the office of a variety of service providers.
The program includes infant care and child development education, home visits, referrals, prenatal care, parenting programs, one-on-one support, nutrition education, breastfeeding education, emotional support, and advocacy.

Mobile Diabetes Clinic
Carrier Sekani Family Services
Provides mobile diabetes prevention and intervention education, checkups and testing in communities across Northern BC. Clinics are offered free-of-charge and may include health assessments, eye and or foot exam, finger-prick test, blood pressure check, and urine testing.

Non-Insured Health Benefits
Carrier Sekani Family Services
Provides eligible registered First Nation clients help with accessing funding for medically required health services that are not provided on the reserve or in the community of residence. Benefits provided through Health Canada currently include prescription drugs, over-the-counter medication, medical supplies and equipment, short-term crisis counselling, dental care, vision care, and medical transportation.

Patient Travel Benefits
Carrier Sekani Family Services
Administers and coordinates medical travel to eligible First Nations clients on behalf of the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) Health Benefits Program. The program provides funding for transportation to the closest appropriate medical professional and or facility for medical or health related services that are eligible through the BC Medical Service Plan or covered by FNHA.

Provides primary health care to community members living in the Carrier and Sekani territory. The clinic offers basic day-to-day care by family doctors, nurse practitioners, dietitians, and pharmacists. Services include holistic wellness programs, occupational and or physical therapy, and referral to specialist services as needed.

Provides short-term assessment and monitoring of clients who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol as they start the sobering process.
Clients are provided with basic necessities such as hygiene items and snacks and when ready, are provided with guidance, information and mental health and substance use referrals, as needed or requested.

Offers information and guidance to families of Aboriginal children with a developmental delay or disability who need support with their child's participation in child care programs.

Provides emergency shelter and transitional housing to women and their children experiencing a crisis and needing support services. While staying at the home women are provided with food and other essentials, emotional support, counselling, advocacy, and referral to other resources as needed.

Provides culturally competent approach prevention and intervention services for youth in Burns Lake and Prince George, to prevent and reduce substance use and violence while encouraging leadership and personal growth.
