Seabird Island Band

Provides residential treatment to support Indigenous people overcoming addiction. Support is provided through traditional healing of the spirit, mind and body. The program includes mental health and substance use counselling, detox support, fitness and recreation, group sessions, career training, family support, and traditional practices like cedar brushing, drumming, sweats, and medicine walk.

Offers support to Aboriginal families of infants who are at risk for, or have been diagnosed with, developmental delays. Consultants support families by providing home visits, activity planning, developmental assessments, and offering access to culturally appropriate early intervention support programs.

Provides assistance to children with special needs, and their families, who need extra support to be included in child care settings and communities.

Support may include assistance finding child care, developmental screening and assessments, individual planning, training, support and consultation with families and child care programs, assistance accessing other community resources, and extra staffing support if needed in child care programs.

Provides substance use counselling, and on-reserve men's and women's recovery homes to adults who are struggling with addiction.

Offers off-reserve families with young children, or expecting parents, the ability to access early learning and early intervention programs. Families participate in the program through various activities and games, as well as learn about early childhood development. Stō:ló and Nlak'pamux culture and language are integrated throughout the program.

Offers individual counselling and family or group counselling, such as mediation or circles, to support those in the community who are affected by addictions. Couples counselling is also available.

Provides a full range of dental services to the community including general dentistry, oral hygiene and cleaning, restorative dentistry, oral cancer screening, dentures, and walk-in pain clinic.

Offers eligible residents who have acute, chronic, palliative, or rehabilitative health care needs, a variety of in-home health care services to help with maintaining optimum health in their own home.

Services include home support, personal care, acute care nursing, foot care, meal preparation and menu planning, friendly visits, and health monitoring.

Supports pregnant First Nations women with having healthy pregnancies, and provides education and guidance to new parents and families with young children.

The program includes cultural teachings, midwifery services, infant massage, prenatal care, parent-child play groups, and a support circle for pregnant women and or moms with newborns. Transportation is provided.

Provides one-on-one and group nutrition education to help community members make healthy choices, eat better to feel better, and keep healthy and fit. The program also provides healthy food choice and preparation learning in the community kitchen, child and youth nutrition, diabetes education, and individual, group, and Elder fitness programs.
