The provincial health authority that works with the BC Ministry of Health and the five regional health authorities to bring health care closer to where BC residents live, to promote health, manage chronic conditions and reduce the burden of illness.
PHSA operates provincial agencies that provide care and services through specialized hospitals and centres, and as well are responsible for specialized provincial health services, which are delivered across the province in collaboration with regional health authorities.

BC Health Information and Resources
Health topics and resources include advance care planning, hearing loss, living with chronic illness, stroke, medical assistance in dying, preventing injury, environmental hazards, and healthy habits for life.
BC Inherited Arrhythmia Program
Provides care to individuals with a history of an inherited arrhythmia or inherited heart rhythm condition, an unexplained sudden cardiac arrest, or a family history of sudden unexpected death.
Clinics are held through two clinical sites in Vancouver and Victoria and may include genetic counselling, heart screening tests, and appointment with a heart rhythm specialist.

Ethics Service
Offers confidential support services to help patients, families and healthcare teams who face complex, difficult ethical decisions. Areas of support include identifying the appropriate or justifiable course of action, balancing perspectives and values that inform decisions, handling disagreements to determine the best path forward, clarifying who should make the decision, and facilitating discussions about patient and family values. Offered in person or virtually per needs of the requester.
PHSA Ethics Service is centralized and serves all provincial agencies including but not limited to BC Cancer Agency, BC Centre for Disease Control, BC Children's Hospital and Sunny Hill Health Centre, BC Women's Hospital and Health Centre, BC Mental Health and Substance Use, BC Emergency Health Services, and other agencies delivering PHSA's programs and services.
