Provincial Health Services Authority

The provincial health authority that works with the BC Ministry of Health and the five regional health authorities to bring health care closer to where BC residents live, to promote health, manage chronic conditions and reduce the burden of illness.

PHSA operates provincial agencies that provide care and services through specialized hospitals and centres, and as well are responsible for specialized provincial health services, which are delivered across the province in collaboration with regional health authorities.

Provides an online listing of BC health resource and services available in French, as well as information about the BC health system explained in French.

Provides Indigenous youth wellness promotion and suicide prevention through online activities and training and in community based youth groups.

The Cuystwi program offers online wellness quests with themes on identity, culture, understanding colonization, tools to deal with racism, healthy relationships, and sexual health.

Also offers Ask Auntie - a girl-specific program with themes on identity, culture and connection, relationships and safety, wellness, body knowledge and body transitions, and healing.

Provides a free phone app that brings emergency responders to people who may be having an overdose on drugs while alone. Provided in partnership with regional health authorities and Lifeguard Digital Health.

The app is activated by the user before they take their dose. If the user doesn't hit a button after a set amount of time, a text-to-voice call will go to 9-1-1, alerting emergency medical dispatchers of a possible overdose.

Provincial Health Services Authority
Offers a province-wide virtual post-COVID recovery clinic for people with long-term health effects after COVID-19 infection. The network is a partnership between PHSA, the provincial Ministry of Health and BC's health authorities.

The clinic offers education sessions, rehabilitation support and self-recovery resources. Online self-care information and resources are also available for any resident wanting to learn more about long-COVID support and recovery.
